In the round ten the game of leader Carlsen with Volokitin finished draw at 80th move and Magnus Karlsen provided himself a first place.  Shirov beat Svidler, and Ivanchuk won Van Wely. The rest games were drawn.

In the round nine Eljanov played black and won Volokitin. After this victory he placed 2nd in tournament table. Nisipeanu beat Shirov in sharp game. The rest games were drawn.

In the round eight the leader of tournament Carlsen played draw with Onischuk and kept a break in two points. His competitors Karjakin and Eljanov played also draw and Volokitin lost Van Wely. Ivanchuk finished game against Shirov by a nice attack. After this victory Ivanchuk rose to 2-4 places in the tournament table. Alekseev beat Nisipeanu (second defeat in succession of Romanian grandmaster).

Magnus Carlsen increased a break to two points. In seventh round he played black and won Nisipeanu, while his competitors played draw. Eljanov beat Onischuk, Yakovenko won Van Wely. After this round there are three Ukrainian grand masters – Volokitin, Karjakin and Eljanov divide 2-4 places.

All games of the round six were draw. Game Shirov – Karjakin was the most interesting duel of the round. Shirov sacrified a knight on f7, following a known game Topalov - Kramnik (Wijk an Zee, 2008). Sharp fight finished with repeating moves.

In the round five the leader of the tournament Carlsen won the third game successively. He gained victory over Shirov in near drawn ending. The game between two young Ukrainian chess-players Volokitin - Karjakin finished with a white victory. As a result Volokitin gained Karjakin and they take 2 - 3 places in the tournament table, but stand behind the leader on 1,5 points. Nisipeanu beat Van Wely, and Svidler won the victory over Onischuk. Games Jakovenko - Ivanchuk and Alexeev – Eljanov were draw.

Carlsen continue to head the tournament  table. In round four he played black and gained the victory in the game with  Eljanov. Karjakin beat Jakovenko and stay in half point behind the leader . Van Wely won game with Alexeev. Three games were draw.
